Summary:
The ACD will play a pivotal role in bridging high-level concepting with hands-on execution, ensuring our work remains both culturally relevant and strategically effective.
As Associate Creative Director (ACD), you will work closely with the Executive Creative Director (ECD) and the creative team to lead the art direction, concept development, and execution of large-scale and small-scale campaigns, activations and branded content (co-branded & Whitelabel).
Passionate about creating innovative content across all platforms and working strategically with varied team members to deliver inventive, disruptive, and high-performing campaigns and branded content, you will oversee creative output across multiple platforms—digital, social, video, print, and experiential—ensuring alignment with client objectives and Dazed Media’s creative codes.
You will play a key role in conceptualising and bringing to life groundbreaking campaigns for a diverse portfolio of clients while ensuring that the quality, creativity, and strategic goals of each project are met.
Responsibilities:
- Creative Direction & Ideation: Lead and manage the creative process from concept to completion for brand campaigns that capture attention, drive conversation, and build lasting brand affinity, working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Integrated Campaigns: Develop and execute integrated creative solutions across a variety of media formats—digital, social, video, print, and experiential.
- Editorial Expertise: Leverage Dazed's editorial heritage and cultural influence to create custom brand campaigns, ensuring that every campaign balances brand objectives with cultural authenticity, cementing Dazed Studio’s reputation as a leading creative partner at the intersection of commerce and culture.
- Client Collaboration: Confidently present ideas and proposals to clients, articulating the creative vision and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Creative Management: Work in collaboration with the studio team and freelancers, providing clear direction and support.
- Team Culture: Work closely with the ECD and Commercial Editorial Director to nurture a thriving, curiosity-driven team culture by organising team meetings, workshops, and team-building activities. You’ll remain attuned to the team's morale, energy, and motivation, responding proactively with creative solutions to enhance engagement.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the production, strategy, and account teams to ensure cohesive project delivery, meeting both creative and commercial goals.
- Creative Excellence: Oversee the development and delivery of multi-channel creative assets, including digital, film, social, print, and experiential, ensuring that it fulfils Dazed Studio’s standards of creative excellence.
- Content Commissioning: Source and manage external creatives such as photographers, videographers, stylists, talent and content creators, ensuring a clear vision and creative brief.
- Production & Post-Production: Provide leadership and direction on set during photoshoots or video production, ensuring high-quality output that adheres to the brand's creative vision.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Manage client feedback and evolving project demands with agility, maintaining a high standard of creative quality while adhering to deadlines.
- Representing Dazed Studio: Oversee the public image and communication of Dazed Studio both internally and externally. You will organise internal presentations, participate in company-wide meetings, develop content for the Dazed Studio Instagram, and represent the studio at talks and events, positioning Dazed Studio as a thought leader in the industry.
- Travel: Attend client meetings and business trips (with or without ECD), confidently presenting work and articulating Dazed Studio's creative vision in a persuasive and compelling manner, ensuring alignment with client goals and expectations.
- Drive New Business: Work in partnership with the sales team to actively engage with key accounts, enhance client relationships, initiate new business discussions, and contribute to the overall sales strategy.
- Diverse Representation: Ensure Dazed Studio’s creative output represents diversity, inclusion, and innovation in line with the company’s cultural values.
- Trend Analysis: Stay up to date on industry trends, digital innovations, and new technologies to ensure all work remains relevant, future-facing, and cutting-edge.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in a creative agency or equivalent with proven expertise in copy-led creative or art direction.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating campaign thinking, multi-channel execution, an editorial perspective and cultural fluency.
- Experience mentoring junior creatives.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills; comfortable client-facing.
- Ability to balance big-picture thinking with detail-oriented execution.
- Deep passion for fashion, music, art, and youth culture, with a sharp instinct for what’s next.
