ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Brand Partnerships Director (Business Development Director / Commercial Director) to drive revenue growth across Dazed Media’s publishing partnerships and Dazed Studio’s white label creative and cultural marketing agency services spanning creative development, experiences and events, and content production.
This is a hands-on senior sales role focused on maintaining a high-performing pipeline, closing strategic deals, and deepening relationships within assigned categories and accounts. The ideal candidate combines sales excellence with cultural fluency, has an established network of brand and agency relationships, and thrives at the intersection of creativity and commerce.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Category & Account Strategy
Lead commercial strategy across assigned categories and key accounts (e.g., fashion, beauty, lifestyle, tech, and non-endemic).
Develop a clear view of each category’s market landscape, brand priorities, and emerging opportunities.
Build deep, consultative relationships with top-tier clients, understanding their objectives and aligning Dazed’s creative and media solutions to their business goals.
Partner with Editorial, Creative, and Strategy leads to ensure pitches and proposals reflect category insights and cultural relevance.
Regularly assess account performance and category revenue potential to inform quarterly and annual sales planning.
Sales Delivery & Performance
Own the end-to-end sales process—from prospecting and outreach through to pitching, negotiation, and closing—consistently meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Maintain an active, qualified pipeline across your assigned accounts and categories, balancing short-term opportunities with long-term growth.
Lead proactive outbound outreach to new and existing clients, securing briefs and driving conversions through strong commercial storytelling.
Manage RFPs and proposals in collaboration with Creative, Strategy, and Production teams, ensuring creative integrity and commercial viability.
Use CRM tools to track pipeline performance, monitor conversion rates, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and deal velocity.
Deliver consistent revenue reporting and forecasting accuracy, demonstrating full accountability for category performance.
Account Growth & Retention
Partner with Client Services to ensure the smooth transition of closed deals into delivery and execution.
Identify organic growth opportunities within existing clients through renewals, cross-selling, and multi-channel partnerships.
Develop and implement account plans that foster long-term, retained relationships and recurring revenue streams.
Team Management & Collaboration
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Commercial, Creative, and Editorial teams to ensure strategic alignment and client success.
Manage and mentor internal partnership managers and freelance or regional business development consultants.
Represent Dazed Media at industry events and client-facing opportunities, strengthening visibility and professional networks.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
8+ years of experience in brand partnerships, business development, or sales roles within creative, media, or experiential agencies.
Proven track record in closing high-value brand partnerships and exceeding commercial targets.
Strong understanding of creative, production, and branded content processes.
Established network within fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and culture-driven brands.
Excellent communicator and negotiator with exceptional presentation skills.
Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Highly organized and data-driven, with experience using CRM and sales performance tools.
Passion for culture, creativity, and the Dazed brand.
