Role Summary
Responsible for planning, managing and delivering each issue of Dazed Magazine which would be four times a year. Setting out a detailed issue schedule with input and approval from all departments. You will be overseeing the global issue budget and departmental spending. Manage communication between and content delivery by Editorial departments and the Commercial team. Reporting directly to as mutually agreed to upper management.
Duties, Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Oversee issue concept, commissioning & production across photo, editorial, fashion, design, talent & commercial departments
- Schedule & lead team-wide meeting
- Oversee individual departments to ensure roles & tasks are clear, deadlines are met, deliverables are achieved
- Oversee commission costs which are managed directly by departmental heads, adhere to budgets set by upper management
- To be the point of contact between the print, digital and social teams, overseeing the digital/social rollout of the issue
- Oversee production of cover stories with timely communication between editorial, commercial & talent departments
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with magazine creative principles
- Oversee production of specials across all departments, responsiveness to client briefs & requirements
- Ensure prompt & smooth communication with client
- Oversee operation of print & distribution departments leading annual scheduling discussions with upper management, print, distribution & commercial teams, including launch dates, linked events & paid promotions
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years as managing editor of a print magazine
- Digital fluency and experience in digital/social publishing
- Experience creating and managing flatplans
